Francesco Scalone

Full Professor of Demography at the University of Bologna (Italy). He is also an external research fellow of the Center for Economic Demography, Lund University (Sweden). His research deals with historical and contemporary demography covering mortality and fertility transition. He is president of the Italian Society of Historical Demography (SIDeS) since 2021 and was editor-in-chief of Popolazione e Storia. He has taught demography at all levels and currently teaches population-related courses at Master levels.
