Francesco Nicoli
Francesco Nicoli studied Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Ferrara (Italy) and, in 2010, joined the PhD program in Medical Research-International Health at the Ludwig Maximilians University (Munich, Germany). He performed his post-doctoral experiences at the Universities of Ferrara and Padua (Italy) and the Center for Immunology and Infectious Diseases in Paris, France (CIMI-Paris, INSERM U1135).
He works in the field of immunology and infectious diseases, with particular attention to vaccines and immunosenescence. He was involved in pre-clinical studies related to development of vaccines against HIV and HSV and in researches aimed at understating how vaccine effectiveness changes with age and how to improve it by exploiting metabolic properties of T-cells.
