Sherry Olson
Sherry Olson is Professor of Geography at McGill University, a member of the Centre interuniversitaire d’Études québécoises (CIÉQ), and coauthor with Patricia Thornton of a social history titled Peopling the North American City, Montreal 1840–1900. Recent papers grounded in Montreal sources treat the social network of an Irish innkeeper and the sharing of habitat between horses and humans (a chapter in Animal Metropolis, 2017). She authored an earlier book-length environmental history of Baltimore, Maryland, and is a partner in ongoing research into environmental change in the South Island of New Zealand.
