Marc A. Garcia
Marc A. Garcia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology & Institute of Ethnic Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After receiving his PhD in Sociology from the University of Texas-Austin in 2015, he completed a NIA Postdoctoral Fellowship in Minority Health & Aging at the University of Texas-Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. His research centers broadly on health disparities across the life course. Specifically, he is interested in how race/ethnicity, nativity, gender, and social economic factors shape physical health, cognitive functioning, and mortality outcomes of aging minority and immigrant groups in the United States.
