Laura Bernardi
Laura Bernardi is Associated Professor for Demography and Sociology of the Life Course at the Institute of Social Sciences, at the University of Lausanne and Deputy Director of the NCCR LIVES. She earned her PhD in Demography at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2002, spent a postdoctoral year at the Population and Training Center, Brown University (USA) and moved to the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (Germany) as Head of the Independent Research Group on the Culture of Reproduction from 2003 – 2009 and as Junior Professor for Demographic Change at the University of Rostock from 2004 – 2008. Her major research interests and contributions are in the field of Fertility and Family, Life Course, Social interaction and family dynamics, sexuality, anthropological and social demography, mixed methods for empirical research.
