Robert Bourbeau

Robert Bourbeau is Emeritus Professor of Demography in the Department of Demography at the Université de Montréal. He has been the Chair of the Department from 2002 to 2010. He has been teaching and doing research in the Department of Demography for more than thirty years. Dr. Bourbeau’s main research area is mortality and longevity as well as mortality by causes of deaths, especially accidental and violent deaths.

Since 1995, his research has focussed on oldest-old mortality in Canada, and on comparisons with other developed countries (U.S.A., European countries and Japan). Research findings were presented at numerous international conferences (including SOA Living to 100 Symposium in Orlando 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014), and published in international Journals (Population Studies, Population, Demographic Research, North American Actuarial Journal, etc.).
