Lijun Yang
Lijun Yang is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Public Policy at the School of Social Development and Public Policy, Beijing Normal University. He received his BA in English (Minor: Business Economics) from Beijing Foreign Studies University. After working a very short time in the airline industry in Beijing, he moved to the United States to pursue his postgraduate studies. He received his MA in Sociology from the University of Akron (Ohio) and Ph. D in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the early labor market entry and mobility, the process of family formation, and how young adult attainment and trajectory are shaped by different aspects of socioeconomic development and policy that characterize China’s path to modernization. He also has maintained a strong interest in developing theories and methods guiding longitudinal studies.
