Chao Yuan

My research areas are mainly related to: rural-urban migrant study, rural women's study and urban community study.
My research has been focusing on the impact of government-led large scale modernisation and urbanisation on the transformation of individual migrants' lifestyles and cultural attitudes in China, and thus reflecting on the problems and challenges faced by China's urbanisation process.
