Amber Crowell
Dr. Amber Crowell is Associate Professor of Sociology at California State University, Fresno. Her research is in the areas of residential segregation, housing, and social inequality, which is integrated into her housing advocacy and work alongside community organizers. She has published on the microlevel determinants of residential segregation patterns, urban and spatial demography, and evictions. Her current work focuses on new methods for measuring and analyzing residential segregation, in addition to critical pedagogy and social inequalities embedded in rental housing markets. She earned her PhD in Sociology from Texas A&M University in 2014 and was a postdoctoral research associate at the Texas Research Data Center prior to joining the faculty at Fresno State.
