L. Daniel Staetsky
L. Daniel Staetsky is a demographer and a social statistician, with research interests and expertise in mortality, fertility, migration and demographic methodology. He obtained a Master’s degree in Population Studies from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a PhD in Social Statistics from the University of Southampton, UK. Staetsky contributed significantly to understanding of trends, levels and differences in mortality across the developed world and, specifically, to demography of Israel and the world Jewish Diaspora. In addition, utilization of the administrative datasets and application of quantitative methods in general and demographic analysis in particular to issues of social policy constitute a permanent focus of Staetsky’s work. From 2011 Staetsky is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Jewish Policy Research (JPR) in London, UK.
