Alessandra De Rose
Alessandra De Rose is Full Professor of Demography at Sapienza University of Rome and a member of the faculty of the Sapienza University Doctoral School in Demography and the National Doctoral School in Life Course Research, and formerly Dean of the European Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD 2015-16). She was President of the Italian Association for Population Studies and Director of the Department of Methods and Models for Economics, Territory and Finance at Sapienza. She has held the UNESCO Chair in "Population, Migration and Development" and participated in the expert group of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department of Family Policies - in charge of assessing the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on the population. Her research activities focus on fertility and family, partnership formation and dissolution, and gender and generational relations. She is currently participating in the PNRR research programme "Age-It. Ageing well in an ageing society" as Sapienza team leader for the analysis of the ageing of the workforce.
