All run out of ÒData>Do files>Carework and employment>CMM-CE root v8 CK.doÓ 

You will need to change the directory at the start of the master do files to wherever you have downloaded the replication folder DR COVID 2024

If any programs (e.g. estout, esttab) are not found, may need to search for programs 

Data

Official labor force statistics: Labour Market Stats for import.xlsx

School calendar data: School Closures COVID-19_Tunis-Morocco-Egypt-Sudan for import.xlsx

Need to obtain COVID-19 MENA Monitor waves from www.erfdataportal.com. Available to researchers for non-commercial purposes following registration and data agreement.

Place the downloaded data in the ÒDataÓ sub-folder

Analyses start with complete data files (all observations, all variables) and are sub-set as/if needed in do files. 

Codebooks and questionnaires (on www.erfdataportal.com) document all variables. 

Notes: if slightly different versions available and this creates problems, please share your approvals from the data portal with the corresponding author and we can provide the exact versions used. 

Output

Output will run out into the DR COVID 2024 folder, ÒData>Graphs and TablesÓ, graph or table filenames as noted below.
