Yue Qian a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology and an affiliate of the Institute for Population Research at the Ohio State University. Her primary research interests are in family demography, gender, and life course. Her current research is situated in the contexts of East Asia, China in particular, and the United States. Ongoing research focuses on variations in patterns of union formation and assortative mating across social groups, and gendered consequences of family dynamics for well-being. Her dissertation examines how women’s rise in education and income reshapes U.S. marriage patterns.
