In 2007 I received my first academic degree in the field of Demography from the University of Rostock, Germany. During my studies I developed an interest in quantitative population research and held a position as student assistant (2004-2007) at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) which provided me with practical experience. After graduation, I enrolled in the European Doctoral School for Demography, hosted by the MPIDR and the Institut National d'Études Démographiques (INED) in Paris, France. From 2008 -2012 I was enrolled as PhD candidate in the field of Economic Demography at the University of Lund, Sweden.
Since July 2013 I’m employed as Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Liverpool in the Department of Geography and Planning.
